Suffolk Wildlife Trust is Suffolk’s nature charity – the only organisation dedicated to safeguarding Suffolk’s wildlife and countryside. We make a difference for Suffolk by managing nature reserves - securing a bigger, better and more connected landscape for wildlife and by inspiring the next generation through hands-on experiences with nature.
We work in the UK and around the world. We carry out conservation work that you can see from space, built from the ground up. We protect habitats, save species, and help to end the nature and climate emergency. We do this through five main work areas: science, species, places, people and policy.
We are responsible for improving and protecting the environment. We aim to grow a green economy and sustain thriving rural communities. We also support our world-leading food, farming and fishing industries. We are here to make our air purer, our water cleaner, our land greener and our food more sustainable.
The Farming in Protected Landscapes programme is open to all farmers and land managers and provides significant funding for projects in the Coast & Heaths. The programme will pay for projects that have climate, nature, people and place outcomes. Examples of projects include creating wader scrapes and ponds, connecting habitats, conserving historic features, reducing carbon emissions on a farm, as well as tree and hedge planting.

Inspiring and empowering people with an understanding of birds and the importance of knowledge.
We’re the proud caretakers of more than 1,000 woods across the UK, from the Cornish coast to the Scottish highlands. Our head office is in Grantham, Lincolnshire, and we have regional offices in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. We’ve got boots on the ground too – our passionate network of staff and volunteers champion trees and woods in all parts of the UK.
NNCG has been set up to aid collaboration between landowners and land managers so together they can work to improve the biodiversity of the managed environment while farming or managing the land profitably and sustainably. Working together, through a single hub. NNCG gives members a collective power to take action, make changes and share knowledge, ideas and expertise.
The goal of iRecord is to help bring together wildlife sightings from many sources, so that they can be checked by experts and made available to support research and decision-making. It is operated by the Biological Records Centre (BRC) as part of the work of the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH).
Suffolk FWAG is an independent, agri-environmental organisation dedicated to providing conservation advice for your farms. We provide a critical ‘hub’ for landowners who wish to engage and implement key environmental schemes, funds and programmes within their farming practice. We are also at the epic-centre of the new agri-environmental reform and are leading with landscape scale collaboration. We continue to provide all farms and landowners with trusted and experienced advice across a range of relevant practices.
We’re a new company set up by farmers for farmers, so that we can work together to improve our farmed environment and trade confidently with business and commercial organisations in the natural capital markets. We use the expertise of the organisations we work with to trade:
Suffolk Biodiversity Information Service is Suffolk's biological data centre, we have a database with over 5 million records. We collate, manage and share species and site data to help inform better decisions and actions to benefit Suffolk's wildlife..
