Hall Farm Wenhaston: Ghost Pond Restoration Project
Although a tributary of the River Blyth flows through our small farm and it has a network of waterways, it seemed unusual that it had no ponds.
Looking at historical maps, we came across an old OS map (1884), which showed that the farm once had a large pond in the front meadow almost opposite Woottens Nursery. The photo of the map, attached below shows its exact position and size. It also reveals that the farm used to be named Wenhaston Old Hall.
